ARRANCAR
Name: Tomoko (meaning 1: "friendly child," 2:"knowing child," and 3: "wise child.") Akemi (Meaning: "Bright beauty")
Age: 550 (looks 17)
Gender: Female
Birthday: December 7th
Orientation: Freelancing
Appearance: - Spoiler:
(The one on the left)
Personality: Tomoko is the type of girl that was always considered 'one of the guys' by all her male friends. Having little female influences in her life, Tomoko was very boyish, and often just considered herself a boy... Looking past parts, of course. Her parents were always ones to judge her on stuff she liked and wore, her mother specifically wanted her to be more of a lady. With proper manners and wearing dresses, the whole lot of it interested her as much as death, she just didn't bother worrying or caring about something so minor. What was the use?
Some of her favorite things to do is walking outdoors (whether with or without friends - she likes both) and just relaxing. She is a free spirit, and hates being held down. However, as like all free spirits... She was, of course, held down. By what, you may ask? Her parents. They loved her, and, being an only child, and female nonetheless, they protected her with their very lives. Normally, this would be a good, even wonderful thing to love a child so. However, it was not quite so. In fact, they protected her too much. Barely letting her live. They controlled everything and never really gave her any breaks or room to fuck up to learn something. Because of this, Tomoko does not always make the best choice, but chooses what feels right at the time. Her sheltered life led her to blindly guess with her own logic and strategy. Luckily for her though, she was usually always right and was very practical of things, she doesn't always need help - and won't admit it when she does, she was always (and always will be) pretty damn stubborn.
Abilities: ■Pesquisa (探査回路 (ペスキサ), pesukisa; Spanish for "Inquiry," Japanese for "Probe Circuit") is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami ability to sense Spiritual Pressure. It functions very similarly to sonar.
■Sonído (響転 (ソニード), sonīdo; Spanish for "Sound," Japanese for "Sound Ceremony") is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami Flash Steps and the Quincy Hirenkyaku; it allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances. Use of Sonído is punctuated by a brief static sound, in contrast to the "swish" sound caused by Flash Steps.
■Garganta (黒腔 (ガルガンタ), garuganta; Spanish for "Throat," Japanese for "Black Cavity") is how Arrancar and Menos-class Hollows move to and from Hueco Mundo. Kaname Tōsen, Kisuke Urahara and Mayuri Kurotsuchi have also demonstrated the ability to use the technique. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway.
Zanpakutô Spirit: Narbe
- Spoiler:
Narbe's Human Form:
- Spoiler:
Very much like Tomoko herself, Narbe appears male, but isn't quite so. On her left eye is a large scar from a battle from long ago, in which she never speaks of, and vowed not to. When in human form, she places a black eye patch over it to conceal it from others so no one would bring it up to ask. Not that ayone would dare mess with Narbe, she has a reputation for being quite the animal (seewhatIdidthere? XD). Narbe is always found somewhere near Tomoko, and is not always seen; but is there. Narbe protects Tomoko, but gives her a long leash because she does not want to baby her like her parents. She often give Tomoko advice on something that could possibly help her move forward, but generally leaves her on her own the way she likes.
When Tomoko is in peril or in need of Narbe at any point, and Narbe is too far away Tomoko will simply cry out her name, or close her eyes and call her telepathically (did I spell that right..?). At the call, Narbe will rush off and immediately find Tomoko via scent and track her down. If Narbe herself is threatened, you will immeditately noted with her defensive signs, though they vary with her form. When in her cub form (usually when she is content will you see this) and you happen to do the wrong thing, she will claw at you, and not in a playful kitten way. If you do her wrong in her adult form, she will roar loudly before taking a defensive stance, and giving you little to no warning upon attack. However, if threatened in her human form, you will receive a very powerful death glare, and she is not at all suddle about it - you'll definitely know when you dun goof'd.
Sealed Zanpakutô: When needed, Tomoko has a whip as long as her forarm hidden in her left boot. Appearing to normally wear shoes or odd sneakers, she usually has her pant leg over the boot, hiding both her weapon, and the boot from view. She does this for two reasons. One, because males don't wear those style of boots, and the second is simply to look natural or blend in when she is undercover. I mean, would YOU suspect her to be an arrancar right off the bat?
Release: You've done me wrong, you must face the fact. You won't last long, unless you wisen your act...
Resurrección: When the time for battle comes around, Tomoko will utter her release phrase and from there twirl her whip in the air very quickly, and many times. The opponent(s) will begin to see a shape form in this 'picture' made from fire. The viewer will at first see a large blob of fire, but as Tomoko quickens her pace, a large lion's head will form. The head will then glare at the opponent, and roar, possibly intimidating the opponent. From there, the head remains either above or behind her until the battle has ended. {Picture below}
- Spoiler:
Fire attacks include...
Fire Lash: {Lasts for one or two posts depending on location of hit} Tomoko will whip the person as hard as she can with the burning whip, causing severe burning and depending where, can render them immobile in said area. Example: Whipping someones wrist can make that hand almost useless with the amount of pain for awhile.
Lasso: {Lasts for one post} Tomoko will spin her whip all the way around the opponent and hold them there, burning their body until they either move, or she wishes to torture them more for their actions.
Ring of Fire: {Lasts 4 posts} When very enraged (a rare sight to behold) Tomoko will 'draw' a circle around herself both on the ground and in the air 2 feet around her, creating a ring of flames that engulfs her. She will then provoke her opponent(s) or challenge them to come in the ring... At their own risk. If they do step in the ring without burning themself, she will then use some other form of attack, and will grow more and more violent due to the surrounding fire.
History: Growing up, Tomoko was always what kids today would call a "Harry Potter type". She would always find herself in trouble she never anticipated or planned on being in in her life, and was always ailed with one problem after another. It seemed the poor girl never caught a break. That is, until one day she was introduced to an online roleplaying forum. Being not much of a people person, she thought the idea was pretty great, and a cool way to figure out her true self in writing. Writing, like most (or really all) of the arts, she called home. It was her calling, and she knew it. It was her safe place. A home away from home (or in this case - in her home).
After a few simple weeks, Tomoko really got into it, making great friends and really connecting with people like she never had before. Everyone on the site had one common interest... (obviously) Writing. To them, it was their home. Their calling. Their love. Whenever Tomoko just needed to feel better, she would go there... And there they would wait. Some never slept, some were on at just the right times, and others were always with you - even if they weren't online with time differences. It was an expirience she would carry with her forever, and vowed never to forget it. Some day, Tomoko only hoped that everyone would know the feeling of having a safe place - a place with loved ones and happiness. A home.
Among all the people she met and talked to daily, there was a small crowd that stood out from the other members. All but two were of course male, and were the best thing she could possibly have during the rougher times. There was her brothers, and each of them never failed to make her smile. There was her German brother, her funny, cuddly brother, her wolf brother whom was always very protective, the brother she practically assaulted with love and who always reciprcated, and the one she was always there for (and likewise for him) and the one who was more machine than human (figure out which one you are and you get bonus points! - and let me know if I have left you out and I will sure add you in ^^ ). Sure, there were others, but really... She couldn't even begin to list them all. Finally, though, there were her two sisters. One, whom was almost her twin and shared her brain half of the time, and the other... Well, happened to be dating her protective brother oddly enough; we never said it was a normal family. Aside from how possibly strange her family was, she loved each and every one of them very much, and was always sad when any contact was broken - whether it be sleep, a busy schedule, or what have you.
One day, Tomoko (after a struggle with herself) decided to take a walk. She knew she was never a normal girl, the people that raised her had always told her so, and because of it she never took humankind seriously. Sure, there were times she could tolerate them... But there was far too much stupidity where beauty could be. On this particular day, it was raining; which was one of her favorite things (and bonus - she was walking too!). She got so excited, she danced around, twirling and singing in the heavy rain. It soon began to get dark, the sun was setting and the sky was a crisp gold. She did not want to waste a moment like this, so off she went into a full on run; off to her friends house to have them come out and watch the sunset with her in the rain. That day, Tomoko had been wearing all black, and not thinking, ran across the road thinking that this was always a dead road anyway. This time, she was wrong. A car, whom had not seen her, had been speeding down said road and slammed on the brakes at the dark figure ahead. The rain, however, made the road very slippery and made the car not stop right away as per expected by the driver. And before either knew it, it was too late. The car had hit her with enough force to send her body hurling backward, straight into a stop sign, which cut open the back of her head (as if a broken ribcage was not enough). The world was no longer a crisp gold, but a lonely, cold, dark black.
And that was the end of Tomoko.
Her guardians, whom had kept a close eye on her for years were called as Tomoko was rushed to the hospital. Normally, a parent or guardian would be out of their mind with worry and horror; but not them. They simply went down to the hospital and calmly were told the girl arrived DOA. All they did was nod solemnly, and asked for her corpse without question. Though suspicions were slightly aroused, they just explained that they wanted to do a provate burial in their backyard, and nothing fancy. They even requested for it not to be published anywhere; it isn't like the driver got hurt, so there was no real need. After a long while in the hospital, they went home.
Five months after the accident, Tomoko's eyes opened. Now, for most, this would be something straight from a horror story, but her guardians simply looked down on her and smiled with tears in their eyes.
"You've awaken! We've missed you so... We wondered how long your head wound would be with such a nasty hit. Quite the coma you had, darling... How do you feel?"
Tomoko blinked. All of a sudden, all the memories came back to her. The pain, the car lights, the sound of it all. Her jaw dropped slightly. So they weren't kidding... She really was... an Arrancar...?
~Lol, surprise cliffhanger ending~
